Butter Cookies

1 cup soft butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg

Mix together well. Then add:

3 tsp vanilla

Stir in:

3 cups sifted flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Chill dough. Roll thin. Cut into desire shapes. Place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 425 for 5 - 7 minutes.

Top with icing sugar toping - powdered sugar; milk; vanilla + food coloring.

Eat the whole batch. Then make another. Really good at the holidays.
