“For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” – Acts 4:12
Modern society would have us believe that there are many ways to heaven and that Christianity is but one path to redemption. For the world, there is no issue with mixing Christianity with Buddhism, New Age thought, or any other religious philosophy. But the Bible tells a very different story. There is no other path to reconciliation with God than through Jesus Christ. Peter’s words to the Sanhedrin—the religious leaders of that time—make this quite clear in Acts 4:12. And Paul warns us in 1 Corinthians 6:9 against mixing Christianity with other religions when he tells us that those “who worship idols” “will not inherit the Kingdom of God.”
Sometimes it can be hard to stand firm in our faith. It would be so much easier just to live and let live. But the reality is that unless your friend or family member whom you love knows Jesus Christ, they will not be with you in Heaven. It is so critical that we speak the truth in love to those we interact with. If we love others the way that God loves us, then we cannot keep our faith to ourselves. Our purpose here on earth is to share God’s love and reconciliation with everyone who will listen. Only Jesus has the power to save us from our sinfulness and transform us into holiness.
